Of late, I have been reading through pages and pages of articles right from design to technology to creative inspiration. I mean… A Lot! The typical way is to hit the browser and go through multiple tabs of people and sites I have been following regularly, and I thought its time to streamline it a bit. I never understood how people would subscribe to feeds and read anything on that ugly looking interface including Google Reader, which in my opinion is still so cluttered and looks like an half baked attempt to aggregate and showcase information which you like.

After a few minutes of research for the best mac RSS feed reader, the clear winner seemed to be ‘Reeder’. And rightly so! One of the most beautiful designs which is a world apart from the shitty web based RSS readers of the past and better than other apps which I compared based on design, ease of use and customization capabilities (like NetNewsWire, NewsRack and free apps like Cappuccino)

So you start off with your Google Reader account and you are all set. It just works. The beauty is in the details, right from the icon which gives you a count of unread items, to the customizable views and gesture based navigation across articles. Feed Management is great and syncs with your Google Reader account. You can customize your sharing preferences and easily assign shortcut keys like I did for my Instapaper and Twitter accounts.

There are very few apps which I rave about like this. And I know this app launched last year and I am writing about it now, so you really know how much I am loving this app. I doubt if an RSS Feed Reader can get more beautiful than this.
